Pajama Day - Oct 28

Andrew's 4th grade class for P.J. day.

The Boot is Off! - Oct 26

We celebrated tonight by getting frozen yogurt.  Ella is boot-free!  She's now learning how to walk again.  It was a few days shy of 10 weeks with a cast or a boot on.  Still no soccer or karate for her yet.

Temple Trip - Oct 24

Ella didn't go since she still has to have her foot in a boot.  She was super bummed.

Heritage Park Pumpkin Patch - Oct 23

Kaitlyn and Isabella

Checking out the baby chickens

Lots of pumpkins!

The whole gang

The lights at night look neat

There's this cute pumpkin patch right by the elementary school.  It's free to go to and they have it decorated so neat.  We went over there this evening to get some pictures for the Halloween season.

Scout Pack Night - Oct 21

Earning his Whittling Chip Badge

Birthday Weekend - Oct 17/18

Andrew scored an awesome goal at his soccer game today!  He "gave" his goal to me for my birthday :)

We went and saw PAN tonight with the Lawes. Great movie!

I got a new vacuum for my birthday!
James BBQ'ed steak and made pilaf for dinner and we had pie for dessert!  Yummy!

The pumpkin pie in the picture is for everyone else, the berry one is all mine! Nobody likes pie like me.

Indian Camp (Hands on History) and Carving Pumpkins - Oct 14

Savag, Colton, Andrew and C.T.

Putting war paint on each other.

Cool Indian necklace too!

More war paint

I just love Andrew's face in this photo :)

Caving pumpkins for Young Women's

Looks like a lot of fun!

Andrew had a "Hands on History" field trip where they experience live as Native American's would.  They make baskets, grind up acorns, make necklaces and paint rocks and their faces.  Later that night the girls' carved and decorated pumpkins, unfortunately the pumpkins were covered in mold a few days later.

Choir Concert - Oct 13

Nadine, Emma, Thanh and Kaitlyn

Rebecca and Andrew

Too cute!

Tonight was Bonita High's Fall Choir Concert.  The performances were amazing!  We went out to Chili's with the Lawes afterwards to celebrate!

Matching Braces

Twin Day: Kaitlyn and Emma
It was neat to see the inside of the La Verne Police Dept.

Outside with a police car.
London, Isabella and Ella-play in the wind ensemble middle school group.

Andrew needed his picture taken too.

Andrew and Andrew being silly.

High School "CORE" project - Oct 6

Built floating platforms to sail their boats out onto the high school pool.

Created an original script and acted out scenes from real life pirates in history.

There were 12 boats made!  They are floating by using empty 2 liter soda bottles.
Now this must be the time in life when children don't need their parents help with school projects.  The "CORE" group of 105 freshman students put together a whole show with floating boats, props, costumes-complete with narration and music. It was so neat to see what everyone had worked on.  Their English, Science and Social Studies classes combine and work on these projects one for each quarter of the school year.  They are mostly left on their own to come up with all the design and planning.  It's amazing work! The next project incorporates a classic novel and a Rube Goldberg device.

Braces for Ella - Oct 6

Ella's Soccer Game - Oct 3

Ella is easy to spot in the crutches.

She has now missed the first 4 games...
We go to watch and support the team, but it's not the same.

Kaitlyn's School Project, Walk-A-Thon and Braces - Oct 2

Kaitlyn's group building their pirate ship for their skit.

The skit will be performed on a floating stage in the high school pool next week.  It's going to be amazing!
Andrew's class - Walk-A-Thon day. Or for Andrew and his friend, Jacob the "Run-A-Thon" day.  They ran for the entire time together and tied for the most laps at 37!

Kaitlyn getting ready for braces!

Andrew was really interested in how they put the braces on

Braces are on!

I think Andrew had more fun at the orthodontist that Kaitlyn.  He got a Frisbee and balloons.
