Kaitlyn's Birthday Party - March 29

Going to see Divergent!

Waiting to watch the movie!

Dauntless Chocolate Cake!

Ella needing some attention today
Because we always have spring break the week of Kaitlyn's birthday, we celebrated with some of her friends today, a little early.  I took them to see Divergent and then we came home and had Dauntless chocolate cake.  The girls had a lot of fun talking about the movie and comparing it to the book and then playing charades with movie/book/character themes.  I can't believe we are going to have a teenager on our hands in less than a week!

Baseball Game - March 29

Heading out to pitch.

Great action shot of Andrew pitching

Ella's Friends - March 28

Jaelyn, Melody, Ava and Ella

Some glasses Ella made for Melody out of melty beads and pipe cleaners.
Ella went home after school today to have a little going away party for Melody, who is moving to Texas next week.  Ella made these fun glasses as part of her present to give to Melody.  They had a fun evening at Ava's house and it was hard to say goodbye to one of their friends.

Ella Earned her First Blue Stripe! - March 20

Ella tested in karate tonight and earned her first stripe for blue belt.  She tested on four kata's that she had to do from memory with no help.  She only has to master one more whole kata and she will earn her junior black belt!  It's amazing that she has been so motivated and disciplined to continue with karate for so many years and to see her hard work pay off!

Baseball Game - March 20

Andrew up at bat!

Andrew pitching

He loves to pitch and get the batter to strike out!
Andrew had his second baseball game of the season today.  Andrew did really well striking out some players when he was pitcher and catching the ball after it was hit to get some players out.  He loves to play first base as well, and he got many runners out before they made it to the base!  It's going to be a great season! Below are some more pictures that the team took of Andrew pitching.  I love how he has a big smile on his face in all these pictures!

Andrew Earns his Bobcat - March 19

Andrew earned his Bobcat at Pack Night tonight. He was so excited to wear his scout shirt for the first time! Thanks, Mom for helping us get his shirt!  We now have the fun job of sewing on the patches!  He also earned his video game belt loop and pin and his basketball belt loop and pin.  He is working on baseball and soccer belt loops now since he is playing both those sports right now with La Verne Little League and Claremont's AYSO.  Way to go Andrew!  Keep up the great work!

Ramona's Spring Choir Concert - March 18

Emma and Kaitlyn after the Spring choir concert!
The concert was so much fun.  I have seen such improvement and strength in Kaityn's singing abilities in these past few years.  Our school district has a wonderful music program.  A few weeks ago, Kaitlyn volunteered for a solo to sing during New Beginnings for Young Women's. She loves to perform and jumps at any chance she gets!

Jump A Thon - March 13

Logan, Sean and Andrew

Ella and Ava hula hooping

A little jumping bean!
Today the elementary school is having a Jump a Thon to raise money for technology at the school.  We needed to make sure Andrew knew he didn't have to jump consistently for the whole hour they have the jump a thon, because last year he couldn't walk for a few days afterwards.  This year, I went and took some pictures and reminded him to pace himself!  Hopefully he will not be sore for his soccer and baseball games this weekend!  Ella decided to hula hoop instead with her friends.

Baseball Scrimmage Game - March 4

This was a friendly scrimmage game that Andrew played his first time as pitcher.  He struck out the first two batters and then hit another batter (so he got to walk to first base), but the next batter that hit the ball, it came right to Andrew and he got the runner out!  He also played first base and got a few more runners out on first! He had a lot of fun and ended up scoring the only run for our team and the other team had no runs.  His first real game is March 15 after Opening Day ceremonies!

Last Basketball Game - March 1

Andrew played in his last basketball game of the season today.  He sure had fun and loves to play so many sports.  He is already on to baseball - which we had pictures for today too, and soccer in another week or so.  Hopefully there won't be too many conflicts with playing two sports this Spring!
