Andrew's robotics academy held at Pitzer College sponsored a field trip to Cal Tech's campus and the Science Center.  It was really neat that the whole family was able to attend.  The walking tour of Cal Tech's campus was very interesting.   We got to see where they hold many summer courses for kids and teens.  I had no idea that great minds like Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking taught and lectured there.  Then we went on to the Science Center, where we saw an IMAX movie of the Hubble Space Telescope.  We also saw the Endeavor Space Shuttle and many other displays.  It was an all day trip and as you can see, Andrew crashed that night.

Haircut - July 16

A lady in my ward knew a girl in the singles ward who was needing someone to cut an A-line bob haircut for a job interview.  I volunteered and got a free haircut!  It was about time, since my last haircut was last August!  This is also the official first "selfie" for me!  :)

Robotics Course - July 13 - July 24

Robotics Course group picture.

Buddies from school
One of Andrew's buddies from school had a connection to this amazing program offered this summer at Pitzer College in Claremont.  He gets to learn how to program and build robots.  They are teaching the fundamentals of mechanics, technology, engineering and mathematics.  He is so excited to bring dad's laptop to class and learn how to program a robot to do various things.  There was a guest speaker the first day, Walter Martinez who has competed on Battlebots 8 times.  He has also done work on the Transformer movie and many commercials and t.v. shows.  It was really interested in hear what he had to say about the future of robots.

Working on programming their robot.
