Father's Day - June 15

Ella's gift to James (they were all wrapped up) - these were pants he already owned too!

Maybe you will get the Lego Movie reference...
Today for Father's Day James picked tacos for dinner and banana cream pudding with Nilla wafers for dessert. Our home teacher was alone on Father's day, as his wife was out of town visiting the grand kids, so we invited him over as well.  James also liked his new shirt, basketball shorts and hoodie.  Yes, a hoodie (it isn't the easiest thing to find in June).

Karate Sparring Seminar - June 14

Ella is on the left.

Doing a side kick!

A little blurry but she is on the right.
Ella participated in a sparring seminar sponsored by her sensi.  It was for three hours of training and technique in sparring (otherwise known as fighting).  She had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting to use her skills and practice her moves!

Michelle and Judd had a trip planned to Mexico for a CE Implant course.  They invited us to come down for a few days and stay with them.  We left the day school got out on the 5th of June and came back Sunday afternoon on June 8th. I think this trip was just what we needed....a break from the routine and a chance to sit back and relax. James actually shadowed the dentists while they were learning hands-on how to place implants.  Michelle and I relaxed and let the kids swim as we visited and soaked in some rays.  In the evenings we were treated to local restaurants for dinner.  One night we played some games and had a lot of fun laughing over such silly things.  I am so glad we were able to go!  Thanks, Michelle and Judd for an amazing trip!

Andrew and C.T.
Andrew woke up with a fever the morning of the last day of school.  He stayed home, but had to come with us to attend Ella's 5th grade promotion.  He was able to say goodbye to his teachers and some friends too. Ella earned the Presidential award, which means she has earned a 3.5-4.0 gpa for all of fourth and fifth grades and scored "advanced" on at least one California Standards Test each school year. Way to go!  I was bummed I didn't get any pictures of Kaitlyn on her last day of school.

Homes for Kittens - June 2 and 3

We found Andrew's first grade teacher from last year to take our most spotted kitty, "Cow." Another family in our ward took the almost all black one (we call "Church"), and the grey one (we call "Grim"). They also ended up taking our momma cat because she actually was still nursing and we thought it best while we were gone that she stayed with a family that had two of the kittens.  And another girl took the kitty we call "Patches" and was able to watch "Small Dog" for us while we are out of town.  So it looks like we will have one kitten and the momma cat for awhile longer when we return from our trip.

Baseball Game vs. Angels - May 31

Andrew and James - happy with an incredible winning game!

Jared giving Andrew a high-five on the way to the pitchers mound.

Jared is such a great supportive team mate!

James giving some support to Jared.

We played the toughest team in the league today.  We won them and it was a great game!  It was such an accomplishment for our team to beat their "Goliath."  We really brought our A-game today.  Great job boys!
