Surprise Breakfast - Nov 22

The Whole Team!

Funny Faces!
Ella's soccer coaches kidnapped all the girls this morning and took them out to IHOP for breakfast!  I have never seen Ella get out of bed on any day of the week as fast as she did when she heard from her teammates they were going out for breakfast.  She thought she was still dreaming.  She sure had a fun time!

Andrew had a fun season of soccer!  He is great at what ever position he plays.  He loves to score too!  He played against really tough teams in the U10 division.  He had a fun team party too, complete with burgers and a cake with the team picture on it.

Ella's team fought hard and won the championship game 3-0!  They played so well together and are such a positive team to play with.  There was some awesome plays and amazing goalie saves which made the game really fun to watch.  So excited for Ella and her team.  Now we are on to Regionals!

Ella's team advanced in playoffs tonight, by winning their game!  They now go to play on Wednesday in the finals.  They have tied a few games but have never lost a single one!  It's so fun to see Ella play and be a part of a team.  She has made some great friends!

Veteran's Memorial - Nov 14

Andrew and a Rock Memorial of Honored Dead of WWII

Dedicated stones of local service men dedicated by their families.

I thought that it was neat the they wanted to use granite stone that was native to the United States.  This obelisk was made from quarried granite from Clovis, California.

Andrew's elementary school fund-raised to help build this memorial.
As part of the requirements Andrew is working on to earn his Wolf in the Cub Scout program, he needed to visit a historic place in his community.  We drove to the newly built Veteran's Memorial and had a few minutes to read the plaques and talk about the importance of remembering those who have and do serve our country and fight for our freedom.

Ella and Band - Nov 6

Ella and these other band students were showcasing the band shirts/sweatshirts so that students would be interested in buying them.  This photo went out in the email newsletter for school.

Rainy Morning, Sunny Afternoon - Nov 1

It rained late last night after all the trick or treating was over with.  Our cat slept inside for some of the night, but in the morning she wanted to stay curled up in a warm blanket.  She isn't usually a snuggler, so we were surprised that she let the kids bundle her up.  All the soccer games were cancelled and it was nice to have a cozy morning at home.
After all the thunder and lightning, the day turned out to be nice and sunny.  Andrew played at his friend Logan's house and they rode bikes around the neighborhood.
