Spring Choir Concert - May 30

Ella's 4th-5th grade school choir.

Kaitlyn and Ella with their friends Emma and Abby and the choir director .
You may notice that the following post is of the same day. May 30th involved basketball practice, a baseball scrimmage game, ballet class, and a 2 hour Spring Choir concert.  It was a super busy evening.  The choir did an excellent job!  As the tradition goes...they sing "Fame" as the last song and anyone who used to be in choir in the 4th and 5th grade with Mrs. Waas, the director, are invited up on the stage to sing with the choir.  Kailtyn and her friend Emma were so excited to be able to participate this year.  They feel so big and grown up now :)  Mrs. Waas is retiring after 29 years working as the choir director for the elementary schools in the district.  She has a real passion for music and she will be greatly missed.

Baseball Scrimmage Game (Coaches/Parents vs. boys) - May 30

Up at bat.

Hitting a ball.
We had a scrimmage game today that was the coaches and parents vs. the boys.  They loved being able to play with the adults.  I don't think I have hit a ball with a bat since I was a small kid...We had the boys pitch to us and I hit the first ball the was pitched to me and made it to first base!  But, as promised, Andrew got me out as I ran to second base.  We don't have any real pictures of the game (as per the request of some family members who didn't want any proof of how good or bad they were on the field).  But I did take these after the game was over and Andrew insisted on still playing.  He and his friend Sean, took turns hitting and pitching to each other. It sure was a fun evening.

Awards Ceremony - May 29

Kaitlyn and some of her friends.

Kaitlyn earned an award for having a 4.0 GPA all school year!
Kaitlyn along with her three really close friends, Thanh, Emma and Michelle all earned certificates for earning a 4.0 GPA for the whole school year!  They are such a good group of girls that really challenge each other to do their best at everything.  Congrats to Kaitlyn.  Two days later, she found out she got in to the choir group, Encore that she auditioned for too!  She is super happy and it's so nice to see all her hard work being recognized.
