Veteran's Memorial - Nov 14

Andrew and a Rock Memorial of Honored Dead of WWII

Dedicated stones of local service men dedicated by their families.

I thought that it was neat the they wanted to use granite stone that was native to the United States.  This obelisk was made from quarried granite from Clovis, California.

Andrew's elementary school fund-raised to help build this memorial.
As part of the requirements Andrew is working on to earn his Wolf in the Cub Scout program, he needed to visit a historic place in his community.  We drove to the newly built Veteran's Memorial and had a few minutes to read the plaques and talk about the importance of remembering those who have and do serve our country and fight for our freedom.

Ella and Band - Nov 6

Ella and these other band students were showcasing the band shirts/sweatshirts so that students would be interested in buying them.  This photo went out in the email newsletter for school.

Rainy Morning, Sunny Afternoon - Nov 1

It rained late last night after all the trick or treating was over with.  Our cat slept inside for some of the night, but in the morning she wanted to stay curled up in a warm blanket.  She isn't usually a snuggler, so we were surprised that she let the kids bundle her up.  All the soccer games were cancelled and it was nice to have a cozy morning at home.
After all the thunder and lightning, the day turned out to be nice and sunny.  Andrew played at his friend Logan's house and they rode bikes around the neighborhood.

Andrew, Andrew, Jonah and Ella (what's with the mustache?!)

Emma, Kaitlyn and Alexis (eyeliner runes-awesome:)
The two wards did a combined trunk or treat.  Andrew wrapped up his leg to be the BYU quarter back that broke his leg.  He taped a quarter to his back too...Ella was a mustached ninja and Kaitlyn was a shadow hunter complete with temporary runes.  The night was a lot of fun, visiting with all our ward family friends.

Oak Mesa Fall Festival - Oct 24

Andrew, Sean and Logan

Emma and Kaitlyn
I am still involved with the Art Expo (our districts version of the Reflections program) again this year.  I worked from 10a.m. today setting up our exhibit, only for it to take a mere 10 minutes to take/tear down at 7:30 p.m.  The kids went to the Fall Festival in conjunction with the Art Expo.  I never got a picture of Ella and her friend Abby, because they went missing for most of the night.  After having them paged, we found that they had been helping out at one of the game booths.  Andrew was a football player, Kaitlyn a shadow hunter and Ella was a ninja.

Band Concert - Oct 21

Ella's band concert - she plays the bass clarinet (as well as the clarinet)

Holland, Gage and the two Andrew's - after the concert.
Finally got their attention!
Ella did a wonderful job playing at the new Bonita Center for the Performing Arts building.  She has been learning the bass clarinet this year in addition to continuing her practicing of the clarinet.  Way to go, Ella!
