Sunday ER Visit - August 23

Three hours in the ER and she has a fractured foot.

Looks like she really hurt her foot.  We took her into the ER today because the swelling hadn't gone down and she still couldn't put any weight on her foot.  School starts tomorrow!  It will be interesting navigating crutches. On a positive note, I get to pull up to the front of school to drop off and pick her up from school.

Andrew had to be convinced to get a haircut.  I don't know what it is, but he never wants to have it cut.  We got a free haircut at Sports Clips so we took him there, after much pressure from his friends and parents. Kaitlyn had a contemporary dance intensive in the afternoon followed by a vocal duet with her best friend in the evening at Glendora's Flash Back Street Fair.  Ella ended up staying home because she hurt her foot going up the stairs by our garage.  Kaitlyn and her friend sang a duet from WICKED and they had to stand away from each other and not look at each other or they would cry.  It was such an emotional performance.

On top of soccer conditioning in the morning from 8:30-10:30 and this soccer swim party from 10:30-1 pm, Andrew went with some buddies to Rockin' Jump (a trampoline place) from 2-4 pm and then soccer practice from 5-6:30. He was ready to crash and was asleep by 8pm!  Kaitlyn and Ella also went to Rockin' Jump and then Kaitlyn had dance for 4 hours and Ella had soccer practice and karate.  CRAZY day!

Meal Time - August 19

Andrew was bummed because he had to eat his one meatball.  He had been "starving" before dinner and ate something else while dinner was cooking.  But we still wanted him to eat with the family and he was too full for his meatball.

The girls went out for Handel's ice cream for mutual tonight.

Sunday School Temple Trip - August 16

Kaitlyn's new Sunday School teachers took the class to the Newport temple to do baptisms early on Saturday morning.  They went out for lunch afterwards and made a fun day out of it.

Laguna Beach - August 6

We piled into one car and drove down to Laguna beach to spend the day with our friends.  We had a great time.  The weather was over-cast for most of the day, but still warm.  The sun did come out late in the afternoon.  We found many shells and enjoyed a relaxing day discovering things along the coast.  We ate at StoneFire Grill on the way home (yummy tri-tip and ribs!).  The girls get back from camp tomorrow.

New Job and Andrew went to a Splash Park - August 5

Our cat discovered a new sleeping place in the bottom of the stroller.

My neighbor works full time and she just had a baby a few months ago.  I get to watch her a few days a week.  Two half days while her mom works from home and one full day.  Today was our first day together.

Skunk Alert - August 4

We were going to let the cat out tonight, it was close to midnight and we discovered a critter snooping around our front yard.  We made sure our kitty stayed in so she didn't get sprayed. Close call!  She was very interested in watching the intruder from the window.

Indoor Arena Soccer Game - August 3

These guys had a challenging summer playing indoor arena soccer games against teams that were much older and bigger than they are.  It just happened to be that our team was right in between age brackets in the divisions, so we decided to challenge the boys and had them play up a level.  They played their hearts out each game and never gave up.  This last game we played they pulled out everything they had and won!  It was such a great ending to the summer season.  Now we are looking like we will be in great shape for the Fall AYSO Extra Team, having played against some club teams that were older, more experienced and bigger, we should be well prepared to take on any Extra team we play!

Kaitlyn Goes to Disneyland - August 1

The girls went to Disneyland today.  Thanh's father works there so they were all able to go for the day for free.  They each loosely dressed like Disney characters, Kaitlyn was Alice in Wonderland.  They sure had a fun, mid summer get together!
